About Us

Plant Culture was established in Colorado in 2022.

It is a queer, BIPOC, woman owned and operated business.

We hold safe spaces for people to show up as their authentic selves.

We work collaboratively with our clients, and take into account their individual needs, aesthetics and experience levels. We utilize shame-free models of management and communication, and acknowledge that everyone is capable of having a green thumb.

Knowledge is the foundation that we build upon to establish great working relationships, and we pride ourselves on providing the tools to make informed decisions every step of the way.

THE FOUNDER

Chanja "Shan" C. (she/her)
CEO | Indoor Plant Specialist
Chanja began her plant journey in 2014 with outdoor herbs and vegetables. At first she struggled, and killed everything she laid her eyes on. After about a year of research, practice, and perseverance, things began to flourish under her care. This led to the collection of both indoor and outdoor plant varieties. After moving to sunny Colorado, she brought everything inside and never looked back.

Chanja has experience with a large range of plants that include tropical plants, flowering plants, cacti and succulents, fruits, vegetables, herbs, and hydroponic systems. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from the University of Florida, with a B.S. in Geology/Soil and Water Science, and a focus in Hydrogeology.

The lessons learned in her courses only continued to prove the interconnectedness between humans and the Earth. This is where Chanja found her passion to teach others about the beauty of transformation, the sheer artistry of nature, and its overall impact in our lives.
